Best stability shoe I've owned
I play competitive league tennis three times a week and these hold up incredibly well. The lateral support is unmatched when I'm sliding into wide shots.

The ASICS Gel-Resolution 9 remains a benchmark stability shoe for baseline grinders and all-court players who prioritize durability and lateral support over outright lightness. Its reinforced upper and AHAR PLUS outsole make it a long-lasting choice for frequent hard-court players, though those seeking a nimbler, more breathable shoe may want to look elsewhere.
The Asics Gel Resolution 9 stands as one of the most trusted names on the tennis court, engineered specifically for players who demand stability during aggressive lateral movement and quick directional changes. Built with a reinforced toe area, this shoe withstands the toe-dragging habits common among players who favor a heavy topspin serve or extended baseline rallies. The signature Gel cushioning system sits strategically in the rearfoot and forefoot, absorbing shock during hard court play while returning energy for explosive push-offs. Asics designed the upper with a combination of mesh and synthetic overlays that balance breathability with the structural support needed for the sudden stops and starts that define competitive tennis matches.
Excellent lateral stability for hard-court cutting movements— Court notes, 11 sessions / 45h
Underneath, the Gel Resolution 9 features Asics' AHAR outsole compound, a durable rubber material tested to resist abrasion from hard and clay court surfaces alike. The herringbone tread pattern gives players confident traction whether they're sprinting toward a drop shot or sliding into position on a clay baseline. A Personalized Heel Fit system cradles the ankle, reducing internal shoe movement that can lead to blisters or instability during three-set matches. The midfoot features a Trusstic System that adds torsional rigidity, meaning the shoe resists twisting under the foot during those split-second pivots that separate a winning shot from a missed opportunity.
Beyond performance, the Gel Resolution 9 offers tennis players a shoe built for the long game, both literally and competitively, with a construction meant to endure repeated match play without breaking down prematurely. Its wide toe box accommodates natural foot splay during hard cuts, while the padded collar and tongue prevent unwanted rubbing during extended play sessions. Available in a range of colorways that appeal to players wanting performance without sacrificing style, this shoe has become a staple among club players and tournament competitors alike. Whether you're serving and volleying at the net or grinding out rallies from the baseline, the Asics Gel Resolution 9 delivers the responsive support and durability that serious tennis players require match after match.

Outsole shows almost no wear after four months of hard-court play. Only downside is they feel a bit clunky compared to my old pair of lighter shoes.
As a heavy toe-dragger on serves, these have lasted longer than any other tennis shoe I've tried. Fit is true to size and very secure.
Comfortable once broken in, great support for quick direction changes. Wish they breathed a little better in summer heat.
