Best all-around racket I've owned
Switched from an older Yonex model and the Ezone 98 feels lighter yet more powerful. The sweet spot is huge and my shots have more pop without losing control.

The Yonex Ezone 98 is a superb all-around racket that balances power, comfort, and control, making it a favorite among intermediate to advanced players. Its forgiving sweet spot and arm-friendly design make it a versatile choice for players looking to elevate their game without sacrificing feel.
The Yonex EZONE 98 stands as one of the most popular tournament-level tennis rackets on the market, favored by players who want a blend of power, comfort, and modern feel. Built with a 98 square inch head size and a weight of around 305 grams unstrung, this racket strikes a balance that appeals to intermediate and advanced players alike. Yonex designed the EZONE line around the concept of delivering "pure and explosive power" while minimizing shock to the arm, and the 98 model delivers on that promise through its signature Isometric head shape, which increases the sweet spot by squaring off the frame's contour rather than relying on a traditional oval design.
Excellent blend of power and control for all-court players— Court notes, 14 sessions / 50h
At the heart of the EZONE 98's performance is Yonex's proprietary technology stack, including the 2D Multidirectional Composite for improved frame stability, Vibration Dampening Mesh in the throat area to reduce unwanted shock, and a Shock Absorbing Composite to dull uncomfortable vibrations on off-center hits. These innovations combine to create a racket that feels forgiving on mishits yet still generates the crisp, lively response that competitive players demand on well-struck shots. The frame's flex rating sits in a moderate range, allowing for a comfortable, arm-friendly feel without sacrificing the plow-through power that helps drive heavy topspin and penetrating flat shots deep into the court.
Aesthetically, the EZONE 98 has carried its recognizable blue, yellow, and white colorway across multiple generations, a look that has become synonymous with players like Nick Kyrgios who have used the racket on tour. Beyond looks, the racket's versatility makes it a strong choice for baseline grinders and all-court players who want a stick capable of handling heavy topspin, flat power shots, and touch volleys with equal competence. Paired with a standard 16x19 string pattern, the EZONE 98 offers a spin-friendly setup that still maintains solid control, making it a dependable choice for club players chasing a more polished, tour-level game and for advanced juniors transitioning into adult-sized frames.

Loved the comfort and spin potential right out of the box, but had to restring at a higher tension for my style. Still a top-tier racket.
As an intermediate player, I found this racket incredibly easy to maneuver while still delivering solid pace on groundstrokes. Highly recommend.
I have mild tennis elbow and this racket has been much easier on my arm compared to stiffer frames. Performance-wise, it's excellent for both singles and doubles.
