Best control string I've used
Switched to ALU Power after years on synthetic gut and the difference in control is night and day. Spin production is excellent and it holds tension well for a poly.
Luxilon ALU Power remains a benchmark co-poly string for advanced and professional players who prioritize control, spin, and tension stability over raw power.

Luxilon ALU Power remains a benchmark co-poly string for advanced and professional players who prioritize control, spin, and tension stability over raw power. Its stiffness demands proper string bed maintenance and is better suited to players with faster swing speeds, but the performance payoff in shot precision is hard to match in its category.
Luxilon ALU Power stands as one of the most iconic tennis strings ever produced, trusted by professional players across the ATP and WTA tours for its exceptional performance characteristics. Constructed from a monofilament co-polymer with an aluminum-infused core, this string delivers a unique blend of power, control, and feel that has made it a benchmark in the polyester string category. Its signature golden hue is instantly recognizable on court, and the string's dense molecular structure gives it the firmness needed for players who generate significant racket head speed while still maintaining enough responsiveness for touch shots around the net.
Exceptional control and precision on shots— Court notes, 10 sessions / 48h
What sets ALU Power apart is its remarkable spin potential combined with predictable ball trajectory, allowing players to swing aggressively while keeping shots within the lines. The string's tight, consistent gauge and smooth surface promote excellent string-to-string movement, which snaps back into place quickly after off-center contact, enhancing spin generation on both flat drives and heavy topspin strokes. Durability is another hallmark of this string, as the co-polymer construction resists notching and fraying better than many competitors, extending playable string life even under the punishing conditions of full-time competitive play. Available in multiple gauges, including 1.25mm, 1.20mm, and 1.15mm, players can select the tension and thickness that best matches their swing style and desired balance between power and control.
Many players choose to pair ALU Power with a softer multifilament or natural gut in a hybrid setup, capitalizing on the polyester's control and spin while offsetting its stiffness with a more comfortable cross or main string. This hybridization has become common practice among tour professionals seeking to reduce arm strain without sacrificing the tactical benefits that ALU Power provides. Whether strung as a full bed for aggressive baseliners or blended into a hybrid configuration for all-court players, Luxilon ALU Power continues to define what a premium performance polyester string should deliver, combining decades of engineering refinement with proven results at the highest levels of competitive tennis.

Love the precision and feedback, but I noticed some elbow soreness after a few sessions. Had to mix it with a softer string in a hybrid setup.
This is what the top pros use for a reason. Once dialed in with the right tension, the control and spin are unmatched. Restring every 15-20 hours for best results.
Performance is fantastic for baseline players who hit with topspin. Just be aware it's on the stiffer side, so string bed comfort fades faster than multifilament strings.
